Unique retail – a Downtown trend

As of December, another unique and local retail option has opened Downtown. Curious Cleaveland , located inside the 5th Street Arcades, works together with local museums and cultural institutions around Cleveland. The store sells merchandise from the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, and the Cleveland Orchestra – more merchandise from other museums and institutions is on its way for 2013.
Curious Cleaveland helps promote different cultural treasures throughout our vibrant city. The store will raise awareness to hotel visitors as well as Downtown workers and residents about the cultural gems this city has to offer.
“We hope that by seeing a sample of all of the great stuff going on at these places, Curious Cleaveland will motivate people to visit the museums and institutions featured in our store,” says Lauren Wiant of Cumberland Development. “People will want to see what these places are all about.”
As for retail in this prime Downtown location, Cumberland Development is certain that, in this case, seeing is believing. Curious Cleaveland is their way of showing retailers that a Downtown location will work. This new store, along with the Downtown Farmers Market (whose season is now extended through May!), will bring more foot traffic to the 5th Street Arcades and inspire others to bring their businesses Downtown.
Curious Cleaveland is open Monday through Friday, 10am-6pm, and Saturdays from 10am-4pm. Don’t forget that the free trolleys are a huge benefit in the cold weather. The E-Line will take you right down Euclid and drop you off just a hop, skip, and jump away from the Arcades’ doors.

Pretty groovy, no? This psychedelic mug is just one of the items that can be purchased at Curious Cleaveland.
