One of the best things about Downtown Cleveland is that it is home to all of our major sports teams. No matter what time of year it is, there is almost always an opportunity to go cheer on your favorite teams.
Even if the sport you love isn’t in season, there are always great opportunities to interact with the team organization. This year, the Cleveland Indians are bringing Tribe Fest to Progressive Field on Saturday, Jan. 19 and Sunday, Jan. 20.
This is really something to look forward to, and let us tell you why:
First, Tribe Fest was designed based on YOUR feedback. That’s right. Fans of all ages let the Indians organization know what they like and what they want to see, and it is all being provided to them in one weekend.
Second, Tribe fans will have personal interaction with their favorite players, broadcasters, and front office members. Talk about a once in a lifetime opportunity!
Third, have we mentioned the interaction with your favorite players? How awesome is it that you not only watch them perform at the ballpark, watch them on TV and listen to Tom Hamilton announce their homeruns over the radio (it’s going, going, GONE! That ball is outta here!), but you can meet them in person too? These are memories that will last a lifetime. Tribe Fest will feature a large number of current players, such as Jason Kipnis, Vinnie Pestano, Lonnie Chisenhall and more.
Last, but certainly not least, Tribe Fest is going to let fans go where no fan has gone before. In addition to meeting the players, taking photos and receiving autographs, fans will have the opportunity to take part in a range of activities that will be in locations that are usually closed on game days. This means that fans will partake in activities in the batting cages, clubhouse and the press interview room.
Ok… we know what you’re thinking… “COUNT ME IN!”
Tribe Fest will take place from 12:00 – 6:00pm on both Saturday and Sunday, with most activities taking place in the indoor service levels of Progressive Field—still plan on dressing warm though! Kids 12 and under can attend the event for free and regular admission is $10. All tickets will be delivered via mail and fans are encouraged to buy tickets early as there is a limited supply available. All attendees must print and fill out a waiver to enter the ballpark, and Gate A will serve as the entrance for the event. For more information and to get tickets, click here.
Public transportation is a great amenity here in Downtown Cleveland, and our friends at the RTA can help make your Downtown experience easy and fun. The rapid will take you right to Tower City and Progressive Field is only a short walk down the street. Since you’re going to be spending the day in the city, take advantage of our free trolley system. The C-Line and L-Line run through the weekend, connecting Downtown visitors to the Lakefront (L-is for Lakefront, see what they did there?) and to the Casino (C is for… well, you get it). Plan on getting dinner Downtown after Tribe Fest, and don’t let your location limit your choices — these trolleys will make your day’s commute simple!
