DCA’s City Advocates celebrated East 4th Street’s 10th anniversary in 2012 by passing out cupcakes to those walking down the street. Folks were encouraged to sing a round of “happy birthday” to our favorite street.

Downtown’s East 4th Street, located in the Gateway District, is home to Food Network stars, concert venues, yoga classes and stellar patios. Residences on the block are fully leased and development for future storefronts is underway. It took years of collaboration between developers, businesses, local institutions and the government to transform East 4th Street and downtown into what it is today. According to The Atlantic Cities, there wasn’t a market for urban living in Cleveland until developers built places where young professionals would want to be. Read the entire story here.
